De Palm Island is a small private island just south of Aruba. We took a half day tour that picked us up at our resort, picked up lots of other resort guests, and then took us out to a pier where a ferry took us over to the island. The island has a small waterpark, a snorkeling area, an all-you-can eat restaurant and bar, and some other activities. We went there primarily for the Snuba diving, which is a combination of snorkeling and scuba diving. After that, I did some snorkeling and we ate and drank some. Unfortunately it started to spit rain and the sun never really came out, so we did not have a chance to work on our tans.

Along the way, we saw a beautiful divi-divi tree poised against the beach

In Snuba, the tanks sit on rafts on top of the water, while the divers breathe through tubes. Unfortunately our guide didn’t know how to use his camera, so all of our pictures were really fuzzy. That’s me in the five suit and Madeline in the pink mask. We were one other couple and we went down about 20’. The fish were very beautiful, and the coral was nice as well. We were down there for about 20 minutes, and it was a lot of fun… something we will definitely do again.

I spent a good bit of time snorkeling, and the sights underwater were truly spectacular
