Another 5 years between cruises, because life got in the way again. With the crash of Comdisco and the loss of my job, we just couldn’t afford vacations much, but the dawn of TMI began a new era in vacationing.

Our fourth cruise took place over Spring Break 2005. We rode the Norwegian Cruise Lines Sea from the port of Houston, to Cozumel, Honduras, Belize, and we were suppose to go to Cancun. Unfortunately, it was too rough there and so we skipped it.

We still had fun, though. The ship was full of teens, so the girls kept busy meeting new friends. The weather was perfect, although a little windy the last two days.

The girls were 16 and 15.

Cruise 4—Western Caribbean

Since the ship left from Houston near Galveston, we took the opportunity to visit my brother in The Woodlands, having some fun before we set sail later on. It was nice for the girls to play with Payton and Amber.

Houston

The girls on deck, ready to leave port in Houston. Tony took us to the ship south of Houston near Galveston. It was in an odd location really, as it was in more of a shipping dock than a luxury dock. It was nice, though, that he was able to take us and pick us up later in the week. We had an itinerary that we were looking forward to.

Ready to leave On the Sea

We arrived in Belize City and went on an inner tube tour through 7 miles of caves while wearing miner’s hats. It turned out not to be very relaxing, unfortunately, as we discovered Alicia’s claustrophobia along the way. She was not thrilled about going into caves with only 10’ ceilings for a couple of hours. The trip was lazy and fun when we were able to relax our grip on her.

Tubing in Belize

We originally booked SNUBA in Cozumel. Unfortunately the water was too rough, so they canceled our trip that morning and we ended up just taking a tour around the island. Here we stopped and saw this beautiful shoreline along the east coast of the island.

Tour in Cozumel

After the beach, we walked over to the zipline platforms and started taking off through the trees. The girls loved it. After some more time on the beach, we took the tour back across the island where we saw some residents waving at us as we went by. That night, I ran into the dancers that took me on stage once again.

Ziplining in Honduras

The girls made some good friends on the ship, and they had fun with the teen club eating dinner together most nights. It gave Madeline and I a chance to do our own thing, so we were very grateful for the program. When the cruise was over, Tony picked us back up at the pier, and we got a chance to play with Payton and Amber again.

Girls and Food

3/26/05—4/3/05

Since we had an extra day at sea, we did the whole pool thing quite often. They had things like belly flop contests and other such fun activities. Dan also got called up to play Wheel of Fortune. That night, we went to the chocolate buffet.

On the Ship

The first full day was at sea, so we spent a lot of time by the pool, watching the sexy legs contest and other things. Of course, we always enjoy a good show, especially when one of the dancers calls me up on stage to dance around me. Alicia was particular excited about the night, doing a little handstand in the hallway.

First Full day and Night

Our tour in Roatán, Honduras began with a little relaxation on Tabyana Beach. The girls spent some time in the chairs. Meanwhile, Madeline took a photo of me taking photographs on the beach (top) and then I took one out in the water as well.
