We had three days at sea, so we had to find things to keep us occupied. Since it was Disney, there was no casino, so we were interested to see how entertained we would be on sea days. We were pleasantly surprised. Despite what many might think is a recipe for insanity with all the children running around, we actually all enjoyed watching the looks on the young kids faces as they experienced the magic of Disney. We never really experienced any screaming miserable children, either, as parents didn’t feel the need to stretch them to their limits like they do in the parks. |
On the Disney Magic |
There was adult entertainment, too, such as the juggling/comedy act of Jeff Civillico. Of course, somehow I was volunteered to go on stage with him and show my own juggling skills. |
Disney is known for its Broadway-caliber shows on their cruise lines |
The first day on any ship is about getting to know where everything is and what's going on... primarily we were interested in where we were to sleep and where we were to eat. To the right is the buffet up near the pool. Below are the three main restaurants on the Disney Magic. |
The Disney Magic was not a huge ship by today's cruise standards, but it was comfortably large. Of course, the ratio of kids to adults was very large compared to the other cruises we've sailed. |
The sun was warm and bright for most of the time on sea days, so the Vitamin E was soaked up tremendously. Of course, the pools were occupied differently on sea days versus shore days, and according to the time of day. |
Of course, what is a cruise without taking a bunch of pictures of the family, whether it be on formal night, merely dressed up nicely for the evening, or with a couple of real characters. |
Apparently Dale wasn't the only Disney character that had a crush on Dana |

Mickey's Pool |
There was a theme night after St. Maarten. It was Pirates in the Caribbean. People dressed up in pirate or tropical wear and then there was a big deck party at the Goofy Pool. There, Mickey came flying over the crowd and then they shot fireworks off the side of the ship. Disney is the only cruise line permitted to do that. |
Our wait staff for the week was I Kumang from Indonesia and Jose Luis from Chile |
