More softball

This year began with a bang! A car vs. deer accident seemed to start a chain of events that changed Alicia’s life. Dana applied for the College Program at Walt Disney World and Alicia thought it would be something that could get her out of a rut. They both were accepted!

Dana graduated from Purdue in May and we celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday in early June of 2012. That same weekend, we said goodbye to the girls as they headed down to Orlando. The question at the time, though, was “for how long?”

The summer saw a couple more weddings and special events. Thanksgiving was celebrated with the Kozak family.

As we went down to celebrate my dad’s birthday, we also celebrated Brendon Widau’s graduation, and we watched the girls pack up the car to start their adventure at Walt Disney World. When we left Indy, they went one way and we went the other, starting our lives as empty nesters.

In January, Alicia found a deer in the forest preserve.

Schaumburg Fest parade in September

Also in September, we took part in our own CHS Family Fest thank you dinner. This one was special, because the check the committee gave to the church was very impressive.
