Michael Harris, son of Steve & Karen, is our godson. He prepared for 3 years to be confirmed into his church, so we were invited to join the family for his Confirmation. It sounded like a good reason to visit friends in Chicago, so we made a long weekend out of it. Not only did we go to the Confirmation on Sunday, we went to Morton Arboretum on Saturday, worked a couple of days in my office, and visited other friends. The weather was great, so we picked a good time to go.

Approaching O’Hare on Friday morning, we found a beautifully calm Lake Michigan. That evening, we had dinner with Marie.

Late Saturday morning, Marie took us to the Morton Arboretum. In all the years we lived in Chicago, we never visited the massive park. The trees were in bloom and we did a lot of walking through the woods.

We had a late lunch/early dinner, and Dave joined us at a new place in their neck of the woods. It was a nice day visiting with friends.

Sunday was Michael’s Confirmation, and then a wonderful dinner back at the Harris house afterwards. We did this after going to our old church, CHS, for Sunday Mass.

Monday and Tuesday when we weren’t working, Madeline visited other friends. These included Frank & Char, Pam, Mandi, Cindy, and Amanda & Jacob.
