Joey, Angela, and Anthony decided to throw their parents a surprise 30th Anniversary party in September, so Madeline and I booked our trip. We got in on a Thursday night, but the party wasn’t until Saturday, so we decided to stay in the city. It turns out I did some work for a client down the street from our hotel, while Madeline checked out Olympic Park. We visited family on Friday, went to two parties on Saturday, and then had a fun afternoon with Arlene and Pat on Sunday. It was a very nice weekend. |
09/08/16-09/11/16 Atlanta, GA |
We stayed at The Glenn Hotel downtown, just a couple of blocks from Olympic Park |
While I worked, Madeline walked to Olympic Park and found her parents’ brick. We went to lunch with Peter and Karly. |
We surprised Felicia by showing up at her picnic held by People Making Progress. There was good food and good fun for the group.
Afterwards, we drove by our first house to see how it looked. |
In the afternoon, the surprise party occurred. All of Madeline’s siblings were there. We even saw Starlin for the first time in a very long time. |
We went with Arlene and Pat to the Atlanta Botanical Garden at Piedmont Park, where they were having a special exhibit of Dale Chihuly glass sculptures. It was a beautiful day, in a beautiful garden, with some beautiful art. |
