Text Box: We had been to the U.S. Virgin Islands, but never St. Croix. It was a nice island, but not a whole lot to see. The people were very nice, though, and they even joked with us that we should take lots of pictures, because Hurricane Maria was going to forever change them.

We took an island bus tour, stopping a few times to see places or be on our own.

Our first stop was a tree. I guess it wasn’t just any old tree, though, but the oldest baobab tree in the Americas. We always see a baobab tree on Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but that tree is fake and has no leaves. This one not only had leaves, but some pretty cool fruit as well.

We came upon some power lines that were practically falling over. The driver decided to drive under them… you know, which seems like the safe thing to do… but it turns out we made it without getting fried.

Our second stop was some road where our guide used to jog, but it was fairly grown over and nothing really to take a picture of. That made us a bit nervous about the quality of this tour, but then we entered our third stop, Salt River Bay. This place was where Columbus landed in 1493 on his second voyage to the New World. The bay and river were beautiful, and so we were back on track to seeing some nice things.

Our final stop was in Christiansted. We had the option to do whatever we wanted, so we went over to their fort. Although much smaller than the forts in San Juan, this one still had its charm. They had cannons from 1784 and a tiny dungeon.

The grounds outside the fort were very nice, as was the waterfront area.
