Royal Caribbean owns an island in the Bahamas, but they also lease this little outstretch of land on the northern tip of Haiti. We had never been to Haiti, so it was good to add it to our list of countries. Technically it counts, even though we didn’t get the real look and feel of the country. The private area was very nice, aside from the high-pressure area where the locals sold their wares. We did another snorkeling adventure here, even though our first pick was canceled at the last moment.

The area leased by Royal Caribbean was beautiful, and the picture above is one of my favorite photos. It was nice to enter a new country on my birthday.

The captain took us out to his favorite spot, but it was very choppy, so we moved on to another place. That was also a bit rough and the water was murky, but we saw some cool coral, conch shells, and also squid. The ride was nice and it was fun using our own snorkel gear, so in the end we enjoyed our excursion.

The highlight of Labadee was their zip line. It began at the top of a hill and stretched out over the sea. It was massively expensive, so we did not do it ourselves, but it was fun watching others.

The beach was nice, so we sat out and enjoyed the sea air after a nice barbecue lunch. We did a little shopping in the native market, watched some kids play, and just enjoyed the beach.
