This cruise was about escaping reality instead of going to exotic places or doing unique things. We used Marriott Vacation Club points to get a penthouse suite on the front of the NCL Sun. We were in the corner and our balcony was very private. We had a butler if we needed some extra food in our room, and we could eat in a private dining room for breakfast and lunch. It was the first cruise we took dealing with Madeline’s dairy & egg allergies, so the private room was beneficial. The ship was one of the smaller ones, so not a lot of amenities, but we enjoyed the pool, the free Wi-fi package, and the free alcohol. |

We really didn’t know what the perks were of the penthouse, but we had our own check-in line and we were escorted to the ship. The room was huge and the bathroom immense, with a tub and a real shower. Our butler brought us flowers, fruit, and food throughout the cruise. The balcony was hidden, so we could enjoy it in different ways. |
We didn’t spend a tremendous time at the pool, but when we did, we always seemed to have a drink in our hands. |
There were times we felt like the ship was empty, but we did find someone to take a picture of us on the staircase. |
Madeline enjoyed the casino and actually won a bit. She even managed to stay out of jail. |
The private dining room was actually the steakhouse at night. We enjoyed our breakfast and lunch every day. We enjoyed our last breakfast with our new friends, Rachel & Mark. |
The ship had some entertainment, like the Battle of the Sexes game and some of your general shows. They had a Glow Party one night, which we geared up for with… you guessed it… more drinks before the dancers came out and then we watched the guests let loose. |
So long NCL Sun. You enabled us to get away from it all. |
