Like I said before, this is not the time of year that we would purposely be in WDW if we wanted to spend some time in the parks. It was insanely crowded, and both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom closed on New Year's Eve. There were wait times on some of the most popular attractions of 4-5 hours long. For someone trying to ride the rides for the very first time, it would have been a very long, disappointing day. But for us seasoned veterans, we enjoyed watching the crowds and doing other things that we wouldn't normally do.

Disney World New Year’s Eve

On New Years Eve day, which is notoriously one of the busiest days of the year, we took off early from Bay Lake Tower and went to Hollywood Studios. Later, because we had dinner reservations, we went to Epcot, where we found out that Dale seemed to have a little crush on Dana

We had a mixture of weather while in Orlando. New Years Day rained quite a bit, and a cold front came through, but the 2nd of January turned out to be a beautiful sunny, but cold, day. The various weather situations provided for some lovely shots of Bay Lake Tower and areas seen from the balcony or windows.

Although Madeline and I had checked out Bay Lake Tower in October, this was the first time that we stayed in one of our Orlando homes. As you can tell, Alicia likes it.

Because the crowds got so crazy, we chose to return to Bay Lake Tower for the New Years Eve fireworks. On the roof in the Top of the World Lounge, we could see the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom, as well as Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios, and elsewhere in the distance. It was a great place to bring in the new decade.
