The year began with Felicia still in town. We went to Epcot with her and met up with the Widaus, who were in town for Marathon Weekend. Madeline was still out of work due to her knee surgery. That outage lasted a lot longer than we anticipated. Other friends came into town and we spent a lot of time in the parks, at resorts, and at Disney Springs. We also attended concerts at Dr. Phillips Center and ventured off to Tampa, too.

2022—Miscellaneous Orlando Adventures

The Widaus were in town for Marathon Weekend, so we met up with them at Epcot with Felicia, Alicia, and Myles.

Felicia stayed in town a bit longer, and we did puzzles and took her to Springs.

 

At the end of the month, Alicia and I saw Kansas at Dr. Phillips Center. She didn’t know much of the music, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Festival of the Arts began in February, and we went to Epcot to see kara Lindsay and Dan DeLuca perform Disney on Broadway songs.

The weather started to get nice in late March, and we went to Disney Springs to celebrate. Steve Kozak and family came to town, and Myles made a new friend.

In early April, we went to Dr. Phillips to see Cats. The Barnetts came to town and we spent time at their resort pool and went out to dinner with them. Madeline and I also had a Date Day at Epcot.

For Mother’s Day, we all had breakfast at the Café. Myles and I then started walking towards MK while Mel went off to work. He loved watching the monorail go by. At MK, we enjoyed Winnie the Pooh, taking photos with Mickey, and Myles rode his first roller coaster (Barnstormer). He did okay on it, but he also liked Dumbo and the People Mover. Dana and I liked our ice cream, and she even got a special one for free.

Mid-month, we went to a Cast preview of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Later that night, we went to the Grand for dinner at Citricos.

After two cancelations and two venue changes due to Covid, Brit Floyd finally made it to Dr. Phillips. Dana and I went for what amounted to 2-1/2 hours of music.

Jun

In June, we went to Tampa and visited the USF Botanical Garden and later the Hard Rock Casino. The purpose of our trip, though, was to go to the MidFlorida Amphitheatre to see Loverboy, Styx, and REO Speedwagon in concert. It was a lot of fun.

Madeline did a Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot with Michael.

Sep

With the humidity finally breaking and the temperatures more outdoor-friendly, we went to the parks a few times, enjoyed some Halloween events, and we went with Steve and Karen to see Michael at UCF and watch a game.

Oct

Madeline and Dana did the Wine and Dine 5k. We went to the Dr. Phillips Center to see Classic(al) Rock, which was a bunch of classic rock songs performed by a 200-piece orchestra.

 

Disney was already switched over to Christmas decorations.

Dec

We went to Universal and saw Grinchmas, as well as the Macy’s Parade. We also rode Harry Potter. It was fun going to a park other than Disney for once.
