This was definitely a year of big events. I was in Chicago a lot working on a project. We put a deposit down for a new house much closer to Disney, so that everyone’s commute was less. Alicia was living with us, but then she got pregnant. That set the wheels in motion for Mel to get back to Orlando, which he eventually did. Alicia and Mel found their own place in the same neighborhood where we were moving, so that was going to make it convenient. They actually closed on their place before we finally closed on ours in November. We moved over Thanksgiving weekend and then Myles was born just before Christmas. Meanwhile, my project fell apart and so I went from being crazy busy to doing practically nothing. I guess the timing was good, though, because it enabled me to do things at the new house.

2019

I typically sort these by month, but there were two events that took several months to occur during the year, so I’m the first section is Myles. I have a link to get to the house.

Alicia reveals she’s pregnant on Mother’s Day

Mel comes to town in August to find out the sex. They reveal that it’s a boy to us first, then to the folks at the Grand Floridian Café.

September and October timeframe

We have a baby shower on November 2 at the new clubhouse. Folks from GA, IL, and elsewhere attend. We spend more time with Angela & Dominic, Arlene, and Felicia.

Alicia poses on December 15 and then with Pooh on December 19. That evening, they go to the hospital and Myles Vaylor Payne is born on December 20. Mimi, Papi, and Aunt Dana meet Myles. He is released, and on Christmas he wears a cute outfit.

Going out to restaurants is a common thing for us, and Magianno’s was great.

Madeline had surgery to remove one of her adrenal glands that was causing all sorts of problems.

Late May, we went to Chicago and saw friends while I was doing a project. Also, Madeline went to Atlanta for Elsie’s funeral, so there was lots of family time going on there.

Over the 4th of July, Felicia visited and went to the Magic Kingdom

We went to Greensburg for the weekend and saw Mark’s new toy, along with his boss’s toys in his multiple 1937 Packards. We continued on to Chicago and spent some time with friends while Dan checked on the jobsite.

Although we didn’t find out until later, Mäggi & Chris got married on the 6th.

The Eder family came to Disney, I had some minor lipoma removal surgery, and Dana turned 30. Also, Mel returned to Orlando with a new job.

We began prepping our Valewood house for its sale. We closed on our Kissimmee house on Prelude Lane on the 13th. We went back to Chicago and saw friends, but made the trip especially to see Marie and Dave get married on the 23rd. The next day we saw the Raleighs. Upon our return, Brian & Lillie came to town. We also started packing, because the day after Thanksgiving, we moved.

On my birthday, Madeline was in Oregon to attend her Aunt Tree’s memorial. Peter & Karly, Angela & Dominic, and Jessica were also there. They spent time with Kristen, Matt, and Ed. She returned to a few decorations, and on Christmas Day, we went to church and had a nice meal with our new, extended family.
