We took a trip in 2021 with MVC’s tour group, Collette, to the Islands of New England. On that trip, we were less than satisfied with the amount of time we spent on our own versus actually doing fun and adventurous things. We provided that feedback to Collette and they offered us some compensation to use on a future trip. We decided that the world was still a little too volatile to book something oversees, so we decided on this trip to the Rockies. We began in Denver.

The tour began in Denver, goes to Grand Junction, moves on to Durango, and ends up in Colorado Springs.

Our guide picked us up at the airport and drove us downtown to the Hilton Garden Inn. We then walked down 16th Street Mall and over to the Denver City Council and Colorado State Capitol areas. We had our first meal at Maggiano’s (forgot to take photos) and then walked back to our hotel. There was a double rainbow that seemed like a good omen.

We got back late afternoon from Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, so we checked out the Big Blue Bear at the Convention Center before we went searching for food.

We weren’t all that hungry after our late lunch, but we went to Bubba Gump’s to share a dinner. We had Lt. Dan’s Surf & Turf, which consisted of grilled shrimp and BBQ ribs. It was all fantastic. We finished off our evening walking back down 16th Street Mall, seeing an old Radio Shack and some art. We went back to the Hilton Garden Inn and had some wine.
