It was not a good weekend for the South Strip. Late Friday night, the Rolex store we visited in Bellagio was robbed. The next morning, a man shot and killed someone on a bus, which stopped traffic and forced people to stay in their rooms for hours.

On the far south side of the Strip is Luxor and Mandalay Bay. We had a nice walk down to those two hotels before going to the north side of the Strip. We even saw Pete Rose.

Of course, the most famous thing about Bellagio is its amazing fountains outside. We watched them a few times from different vantage points and they were always fascinating.

The Cosmopolitan had fancy shops and a chandelier room. Aria and Hilton were also in the area.

The bridges that cross over Las Vegas Boulevard allow for some pretty nice views of the South Strip. At night, those views are really nice.

The South Strip is where some of the most iconic hotels exist. By my definition, the South Strip includes everything south of Flamingo Road. The Bellagio, Aria, the Cosmopolitan, MGM, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, New York New York, Excalibur, and the Tropicana are all part of that. Since our villa was in that area, we spent most of our time exploring these mega-hotels.

The outside of New York New York is pretty impressive, especially at night. We did check out the casino, though, and Madeline tried her luck on the big machine.

MGM and Excalibur were just quick pass-thru visits.

The Bellagio is one of the most beautiful of all of the hotels. They have an indoor garden and we stumbled across the world’s largest chocolate fountain.
