Our second visit to Southern California was a full week. We did a number of things while we were there, none of which included walking into a Disney park.

Southern California: 03/20/04—03/27/04

We visited the La Brea tar pits and toured Hollywood (see the sign behind the girls), where we just happened to come upon the premier of Disney's Home on the Range. The animated moved starred Roseanne Barr and David Hasselhoff (right) who we happened to see.

We celebrated Madeline’s 40th birthday, by giving her a bunch of cards from people all over. We then toured Warner Brothers Studios, where we saw the emergency bay for ER. We also went horseback riding in Griffith Park.

We went go-kart racing and ate at a restaurant in Laguna Beach.

We made a side trip to Palm Springs, where we went to a water park called Soak City. That's me on the slide and the girls after a long day on the rides.

We also visited San Juan Capistrano missionary, just a week after the swallows all left.

We visited beaches, such as Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica Beach, Dana’s Point, and Malibu.

On the last night, we visited Madeline’s friend, Marie Osterberg and her family.

On the last day, we rented a little boat and cruised around Newport, seeing a sea lion and Gilligan’s island.
