The last time we were in Belize, we went tubing through a cave. Unfortunately, about 20’ into the cave, Alicia started to panic and feel claustrophobic. It turned out not to be very relaxing or even fun. We decided to try it again, only this time we added a ziplining adventure before the tubing. We thoroughly enjoyed the rigorous workout during the climbing of trees to get to the ziplines, as well as the trek to the caves, and then we enjoyed the relaxing ride on the inner tubes.

In Belize, we were docked away from the mainland, so we had to tender into the country.

Gearing up for the start of our adventure. There was a lot of climbing in the forest, but the rides were great.

That’s Madeline way down in the middle of the zipline.

After the rush, we began our long trek through the jungle and across the river that we would be tubing down.

Just as we were about to enter the river, we ran into Marv and Mary, who were on a similar excursion.

Once we got on our rafts, we headed straight for the dark caves. Photos can’t describe what we saw with our miner’s hats, but we saw bats (right), stalagmites and stalactites, and even a small waterfall.

Back into the light, we enjoyed our final leg of the relaxing part of our excursion.

Back near the pier where the tenders came ashore, I found myself a little place to retire down the road. Meanwhile, Pat found a place for George to hang out all day.
