The last time we were in Roatán, we did a little ziplining with the girls. This time, we took a quick boat ride to a private island and played on the beach. The entire group went, and we saw animals, held a croc, and some went snorkeling. We also talked to a couple of the dancers who went on the same excursion.

On our short ride to the island

The island was incredibly beautiful, with all the flora in vibrant colors against the sea. We walked around the entire island and just kept snapping photos.

The fauna was rather interesting, too, with the croc that we held and the monkeys in the trees that we got to feed. The island was a sanctuary for a number of wild animals that were rescued.

Shiela was not so gung-ho on holding that croc, but Marv and Pat certainly loved snorkeling. They said it was one of the best snorkeling areas they’ve ever been on.

They had a replica of a Mayan ruin.

“Oh, this is the life!”

Roatán is just starting to become a popular cruise touring location, so after the island retreat, we went into town and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious mudslide.
