With COVID-19 happening, we didn’t get a chance to get to visit Madeline’s family in all of 2020. In fact, the only time anyone went in 2019 was a short visit for Elsie’s funeral. Things weren’t looking very promising in 2021, either, until I got a project that required me to be there a few days. Madeline took the opportunity and came along, visiting all her family during the five days.

We had a very early flight on Wednesday morning on Southwest, but we tried to stay awake while at the airport.

When we landed, we took MARTA north. I got off at Five Points to walk to my client’s site. Madeline stayed on and was picked up by Peter in Dunwoody. They went to the Roswell Riverwalk Boardwalk and did a little 2 mile walk.

Wednesday

Thursday

We stayed near the Dunwoody MARTA station, which made it convenient for me to get to my site downtown. Meanwhile, Madeline went and surprised Felicia. She took her out to lunch and then went to the salon to get their nails done and get a haircut for Felicia. That evening, we went to dinner with Felicia and then took her to Peter’s, where we saw Ashley.

Friday

I worked again the next day, but this time from our room at the Fairfield. Madeline picked Felicia up and took her to the cemetery, and then the two joined me for lunch at our hotel. The ladies took a 1 mile walk in the area and then went up to Alpharetta to visit with Michelle and Mike.

We had dinner at a very empty Maggiano’s at the mall, but the food was delicious.

Saturday

On Saturday, Peter and Felicia met us for a little breakfast and then we went to Brook Run Park and took a walk. Along the way, we ran into Lyn Nicpon. We told her we were staying with Arlene and Pat that night and we invited her and Carl to join us for dinner. Our walk was a little over two miles and then we checked out of the Fairfield.

We drove up to Lake Lanier and visited with Arlene & Pat for a little while before joining them at Mass in their church. Afterwards, we went to Luna’s and had dinner with the two and with Carl & Lyn. It was about a 3-hour dinner, which was perfect for visiting.

After spending the night, we had to return the car we borrowed and then head to the airport for our flight back home. It was a very nice visit.
