This was intended to be a week long vacation in our Starwood Vacation Network resort, but unfortunately for the first time ever, we had to shorten our plans. Madeline had some hand surgery a couple of weeks before we left, and it took a turn for the worse while we were away. No big deal, as vacations are not as important as our health. We got a feel of Myrtle Beach anyway.

Our floor plan

Our SVN home is Phoenix, but I decided that we should try out one of Sheraton’s other resorts. I saw Myrtle Beach and realized we have never been there, so  we decided to visit the Broadway Plantation. It was a very nice interior space on a very nice exterior space.

We couldn’t spend a lot of time at the pool due to Madeline’s hand, but it had a lazy river and some fun drinks

A big golden orb spider

The ponds had lots of ducks and geese, and they seemed to think that we’d feed them, so I tried to take a good photo of them from their level

Of course, maybe we did feed them from time to time. Even the turtles came and begged for food.

We did go to the actual beach a couple times, and Madeline even went in the water despite her hand

Our resort was near Broadway on the Beach, an entertainment center similar to Downtown Disney. We ate there and watched the crowds.

On Labor Day we drove down the coast and tried to get out to one of the outer islands, but you could only get to one by ferry, and it was closed due to the holiday (left). We came back north and had lunch in Georgetown, a little riverside community (right). We followed the coast more and ended up on Pawleys Island, which had a very nice beach (below).
