In November of 2004, Dana and I went to San Antonio and took along a friend of hers; meanwhile Madeline and Alicia were in Atlanta. We stayed on the River Walk, went to Sea World and a drive through zoo, and of course visited the Alamo. It was a fairly short trip, but we had a good time. Dana had just turned 15.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not

The famous San Antonio River Walk at night

At Wildlife Ranch north of the city, we saw oryx, fed a zebra through the car window, and stared at some interesting lemurs. Nearby, we visited Natural Bridge Caverns.

The highlight of the mini-trip was Sea World. (Clockwise from the entrance sign) After posing for a quick photo, we went in and fed the dolphins, watched them close up, admired the beauty of a scarlet ibis and flamingoes, watched penguins play, and then went to the shows that included the dolphins, a beluga whale, and naturally Shamu.
