Text Box: Our bus broke down just outside of Rome, which delayed us about 2 hours, but we eventually made it to Pompeii, the ancient city buried in ash in 79AD after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Uncovering efforts began in the 18th century and continue today. Before the trip, I thought this was probably the least exciting of the tours, but once I went there, it became my favorite.
